शायरी # 25 (Shayari # 25) Couplet on Friendship Day पहले मुलाकात हुई, फिर दिल मिले, फिर करार मिला,  रिश्ते सब मुकम्मल तभी हुए जब सच्चा यार मिला।  - सिफ़र  Pehle Mulaqat Hue, Phir Dil Mile, Phir Karaar Mila, Rishte Sab Mukammal Tabhi Hue Jab Sachcha Yaar Mila. - Cifar  We met, our hearts met, we attain tranquility, relationships got completed only with true friend's proximity. #######

न मुहँ छुपा के जीए हम न सर झुका के जीए। (Na Muhn Chupa Ki Jiye Hum Na Sar Jhuka Ke Jiye) -  I am sharing here a ' Qita ' written by Sahir Ludhianvi which is recently used in Hindi movie 'Sanju '. A song inspired from it also penned by Sahir for the film ' Humraaz' (1967 ) staring Sunil Dutt in the lead role. Literal meaning of Qata is ‘separated’. Qata stands for a series of couplets in a ghazal having continuity of thought. A ghazal having one or more Qatas is called Qata-Band ghazal . Qatas also have independent existence comprising at least four lines. In a Qata , the second and fourth lines follow the same rhyming scheme. (Qita meaning from Rekhta ). नई दुनिया, नई उम्मीद, नया साल। (Nayee Duniya, Nayee Ummeed, Naya Saal) New World, New Hopes, New Year.  Every new year brings new hope for a better self and a better world. This year also going to end today and here I have penned an eight line bilingual poem for the occasion. Wishing everyone a great, healthy and prosperous year ahead. Including tragic Elphinstone Road Railway Station stampede incident and Muharram Mourning.  दूजे की लापरवाही पर अपनों को खो दिया, बुराई के अंत के त्यौहार पर अन्याय जीत गया।  ####### Prophet's grandson Hasan Hussein's sacrifice mourning, People lament their death in huge gathering  ####### A warrior prince truthful to his ideals, killed the learned man having pride unreal, the knowledge is a blessing for honest & capable, but one who used it unwisely it is suicidal. #######

शायरी #19 - ईद-उल-जुहा  Eid-ul-Zuha, Eid-ul-Adha or just Bakra Eid means feast of sacrifice. Here sacrificing an animal signifies willingly given our love possession in the way of Allah in this case the pampered animal reared with love. It is debatable now to change the practice but it is celebrated around the world and help in feeding millions in the world as a part of sacrifice must be distributed among poor & needy. Moreover those in the business run their families by rearing animals and then selling them during Eid . Here I am sharing a #Shayari on this occasion. Happy Eid. आज भी तन्हाई है। (Aaj Bhi Tanhai Hai) - Lonely Even Today This bilingual poetry was written on 11th September 2012. In my series of revisiting old classics for the new audience I am bringing some of my works back with modifications is required. Hope those who are reading it first time will also like it. The tone of this ghazal is bit depressing where the poet lamenting about his loneliness.  कितने दिन बीत गए, कितनी रातें आयी हैं, आज भी रुसवा हूँ मै, आज भी तन्हाई हैं। Kitne Din Beet Gaye, Kitni Ratein Aai Hain, Aaj Bhi Ruswa Hun Mein, Aaj Bhi Tanhai Hai. Many days have passed, many nights came, Ignored and lonely even today, my fate is same. न जाने कितनी बहारें इस दरख़्त पर छाई हैं, फिर भी सुखा है ये, पतझड़ ही इसने पाई है। आज भी तन्हाई है। Na Jaane Kitni Baharein Is Darakht Par Chai Hain, Phir Bhi Sukha Hai Ye, Patjhad Hi Isne Pai Hai. ख़याल  (Thought) How lover forget himself in love is expressed in this bilingual Ghazal first written on 9th Feb 2012. Subah Ho Jaaye Revisited (सुबह हो जाए) This the second post I shared on this blog in 31st August 2012. Like earlier sharing of old poem in this one two I have made changes which I thought suitable after gaining experience. This Ghazal is praising the beloved's beauty and charm. I hope you will like this one too. तू जिधर चाहे निकल जाए सुबह हो जाए, ग़म जितने भी हैं सारे हवा हो जाएँ। Tu Jedhar Chahe Nikal Jaaye Subah Ho Jaaye, Gham Jitne Bhi Hain Saare Hawa Ho Jaaen. First They Came For - Martin Niemöller (1892–1984) Today I am sharing 'First They Came For ' - the statement of a German pastor Martin Neimoller which is often regarded as a poem. This has become the tool of stating cowardice of elite,influential and intellectual class. In last two-three years it is widely quoted in the Indian and world context also when people supported brutalities on marginalized like refugees, Muslims, minorities, etc. Here I have also shared my Hindi rendition of a poem inspired by this one. First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Trade Unionist. Meri Keemat Revisited ( My Value) This is the first poem I shared on this blog on 30th August 2012. I don't know why by I felt sharing it today. Maybe because I have more readers now than I have on those days. It's a bilingual poem expressing feelings of poet who is feeling dejected as world didn't value him even when he was of the character set by society as the superior. Like today then also I didn't care what others think but its just expressions of a sad person. Two Minute Medley # 4 Two minute medley is my way of seeing happening around in poetic way. They are short and crisp poems two or four liners in Hindi and English. They may be in both the languages.  हर हिंदुस्तानी देशभक्ति अब सिनेमा हॉल में टपकाएगा, सावधान होगा पहले फिर शीला की जवानी पे कमर हिलाएगा।  Every Indian now show their patriotism in theater, Standing for few seconds before praising the vulgar. ##### Boardroom battles out in the open, blame game begins, blew in the air courtesy's token, largest group shrinks. ##### मुफ्त न खाना, मुफ्त न रहना, मुफ्त नहीं है प्यार, ऐसी खुदगर्ज़ दुनिया में तू बाटे बिना सोच विचार, कुछ तो गड़बड़ है ! कोई है गोरखजाल, Jio मेरे लाल, Jio मेरे लाल।   ##### destruction in Aleppo - Syria School, colleges, homes all turned to rubble, God Himself burst better future bubble.
